As the
Kuranda Scenic Train rises through the foothills and tunnels
behind the Freshwater Valley, passengers are presented with
a fully open view of the spectacular Stoney Creek Falls.
Next
stop is the even more impressive Barron Falls.
Constructed
in the late 19th century, the Cairns - Kuranda railway was
carved through dense rainforest, skirting the wall of the
majestic Barron Gorge to provide access to the Atherton Tablelands
and the goldfields.
